Mullen Board Room
The Mullen Board Room features meeting format flexibility with a front camera to accommodate remote presenters and a rear camera to accommodate a remote audience.
Operating Tips
From left to right on the touch screen, the choices are:
"Laptop HDMI" which is for laptops
"Mersive Solstice" for connecting to the TV using screen sharing on an Apple device or a laptop with the Solstice client app installed
If on a college-issued laptop, you will need to request temporary admin privileges from the Service Desk to install the app if desired.
Solstice pods are designed for presenting when all participants are in the same room. Screen sharing in a Zoom or Microsoft Teams video conference is not currently supported.
"Room PC" which is for the provided desktop
There are two HDMI ports, one already plugged into the desktop and a second one for laptop use.
If your laptop does not have an HDMI port, you need to supply your own HDMI adapter.
There are two USB webcam cables provided for camera and microphone, one connected to the mini desktop and a second available for laptop use.
To use a laptop instead for a synchronous class/meeting, please plug the provided USB webcam cable into your laptop unless you want to use the default for your system.
Ensure the sound is correctly set to: Echo Canceling Speakerphone (Q-SYS I/O USB Bridge).
You will need a multiport adapter with HDMI and USB as both cables need to be connected to the laptop.
Please note: If you do not have an appropriate cable, you can install the Solstice client app and project that way or use Apple's built-in screen sharing if on a macbook. You may also check one out from the library as inventory allows, or request one be purchased through your department/office. ITS does not provide AV laptop adapter cables.
Troubleshooting Steps
Apple AirPlay
The projector’s AirPlay name is listed on the right-hand side of the screen when the picture of Peele Hall is displayed.
If the projector you wish to use is not listed as an option in your AirPlay menu, turn off both your device’s Bluetooth adapter and WiFi adapter and then turn them back on again. It may take several seconds for your device to find all of the available projectors / displays again.
Use the Solstice Client app to connect to the display and then disconnect and try AirPlay again.
Sound
Disconnect and reconnect any cables or adapters, perhaps to an alternative port on your device.
Adjust the volume on your computer’s main speaker as well as in the program playing your video or sound (e.g., in YouTube or iTunes).
Use the TV remote to mute and then un-mute the room’s sound.
Use the TV remote to adjust the room’s volume.
Disconnect your computer from the TV (e.g., remove the HDMI cable or stop AirPlay or Solstice Client). Make certain you can hear the sound when your computer is not connected to the TV.
